Are Pakistan ready for the World Cup?

The biggest cricket event, the World Cup is just around the corner. This is the time where teams really want to find and finalize the players who will be representing their country in the W.C.

As a Pakistan fan it really depresses me when I see their preparation, Shahid Afridi the limited-overs captain of the Pakistan cricket team (PCT) even said that Pakistan does not have high expectations for the World Cup since their preparations have been effected by the spot-fixing allegations against a number of their players.

"I am not 100 % satisfied with the team's preparations for the World Cup. We've had problems on every tour, and although there aren't high expectations (for winning the W.C), as captain I'm positive and will keep on motivating the team." Afridi told AFP.

I couldn't agree more with him, I mean look at Pakistan's recent tours. They went to Australia and didn't win any game and wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal received lots of criticism after his performance in the Sydney test. Then in the England tour we all know what happened, a number of Pakistan players came under spot-fixing allegations and then in series against South Africa we had the Haider drama. Honestly, how can someone concentrate on the W.C when things like this are going on in Pakistan cricket? How can Pakistan be ready for the W.C when all this crap is going on?

I really hope all this ends soon because I am fed up with all these things. I mean imagine going on the Internet to read some cricket news and every time you some Pakistani player(s) doing something. I really hope ICC quickly gives their verdict on the three players, I really hope that Zulqarnain Haider resolves his problems quickly because all this is effecting the our players and giving Pakistan a bad name.
